WRITERSWORLD appoints person to create and run French language version of Website

WRITERSWORLD is proud to announce that as part of our expansion plans we have entered into a joint venture agreement for creating and operating a French language version of our Website, based in France. This venture with be the precursor and pilot of German and Spanish language versions, all of which will be interlinked and as such will give all of our clients' books more exposure. The French venture will be directed by Roderick Craig, whose experience of publishing is, to say the least, impressive. Needless to say, we wish Roderick every success because his success will further advance the aims of WRITERSWORLD and its clients.

1999 - present: International Editor "The Washington Times", daily, New York Avenue, Washington D.C. 20002; Writing and editing in-depth features and supplements on foreign countries, from geo-political and relational standpoints, analyzing macro economical and commercial considerations after interviewing heads of major companies, government ministers and presidents. Occasional management consultancy for foreign newspapers. Including six months as Managing Editor "Lebanon Opportunities", monthly business magazine, Beirut. Managing a team of 10 business writers and production staff on the principal magazine for businessmen, financiers, bankers and real estate developers, distributed to Lebanese citizens throughout the world.
1998 – 1999: Deputy Publisher and Managing Editor "Middle East Times", weekly, 2 Al Malek Al Afdal St, Zamalek, Cairo, Egypt (http://www.metimes.com/). Editing and supervising the production, managing a team of 13 editorial staff, and 17 advertisement sales, production, web-site, delivery and general employees. Involved the daily use of QuarkXpress, Photoshop. Negotiating with government censorship authorities, finding ways of circumnavigating the draconian Egyptian regulations – and staying out of jail. Representation of the journal at conferences and ambassadorial functions. Budget management.
1992-98 Owner and Associate editor of "Amiga News", computer magazine, NewsEdition SARL, 31200 Toulouse, France. Joint management of a team of writers and this monthly magazine. Editing and writing contributions on programs, games, peripherals and other computer subjects. Financial management. Set up web sites for various French firms as a side line.
1986-91 Founder and Editor in Chief "The News", English-language newspaper, "Amiga-News", and two other local French newspapers – managing director of a printing and publishing concern. 24500 Eymet. Managing 25 employees, writing, editing and supervising general printing operations. Entire financial responsibility.
1981-82 Head of publications for oil services and exploration company - Dowell Schlumberger, (Dow Chemicals), ZI Molina La Chazotte, at St Etienne, 42000. Editing, writing, planning, technical and scientific documents. Head of department with seven employees and annual budget management of $500K
1977-81 Specialist editor for the "Kent Messenger" group of newspapers, Larkfield.
1967-76 Founder, owner and managing editor of four weeklies.. Managing director of newspaper printing concern Ashford, Kent GB. Correspondent for BBC, "Daily Telegraph", "The Times", "Daily Mail", "Daily Express", "Evening News," Southern Television etc.
Before: Public relations officer and magazine editor for the charity Muscular Dystrophy Group of Great Britain, Borough High Street, London SEl : Sub-editor "Evening News," London. Desk editor Universal News Service, wire service, Fleet Street, London EC4. Six months reporting in the House of Commons.Chief sub-editor of the "Municipal Journal", local government weekly magazine. Stone Sub "Travel Trade Gazette".Assistant Editor then Editor "Pharmacy News", later of "Hardware News". Reporter for Sly's Central London court reporting. Reporter later sub-editor for the "St Pancras Chronicle", and a group of eight other weeklies in the Center and North of London (Camden, Westminster, Hampstead, Highgate, Marylebone). "Kentish Express".
