The aphorism (a briefly expressed insight) is the supreme literary form. Whereas in most genres, the germ of thought, the book's insight, is expressed over several hundred pages, here it is conveyed directly. Written well, it is both psychologically penetrating and philosophically acute. It is also aesthetically satisfying, art in the true sense of the word, aiming to at once enlighten and, with its elegance, please. I hope this volume, Meanderings, does both.
